Description Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema was one of the most successful artists of the 19th century. “He was internationally famous and so immensely popular that scarcely a middle-class Victorian drawing room was without at least one print of Alma-Tadema’s painting. Yet a few years after his death he was all but forgotten”. We love A Greek Woman for its scale, intensity and gorgeous use of color and light and while we are partial to silk threads to complete the 13.5″ x 18″ canvas, we will also gladly select wool or perle cotton threads.
